DOUGH BOWL INFORMATION
We always recommend that you abide by the federal warnings/burning instructions that are listed on the sticker that is attached to every one of our candles and the guidance in our care cards. Here's a recap of the federal warning/burning instructions:
Burn within sight. (Do not light and walk away, be in the same room while lit.)
Keep away from flammable objects.
Keep away from children and pets.
Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting.
Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings.
Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistance surface.
Do not burn candle for more than four hours at a time.
Stop use when only 1/4" of wax remains.
Do you spray any of the dough bowls with fire retardant?
No, we do not. We work to keep our candles as clean and as natural as possible and believe our soy wax mixing with fire retardant chemicals is not a very healthy way to go.
Are these bowls completely watertight?
We cannot guarantee 100% water-tightness of the bowl; however, rest assured we test each bowl before we fulfill an order. We recommend if you do purchase one of these dough bowl candles and light it, ensure it sits on a fire resistant surface that can also handle any wax clean up that may be necessary. We will not replace or refund a candle that leaks, but please let us know if you should have any issues.
What can I do with the dough bowl once the candle burns out?
Cleaning Instructions: Carefully hold the bowl perpendicular over a waste basket and warm up the leftover wax with a blow dryer or heat gun. (We recommend a heat gun as it won't BLAST the wax as much as a hair dryer, but know heat guns get VERY hot.) Pour out the liquid wax into the waste basket--never down the sink! Once the wax is poured out, carefully remove the wick holders. While still warm, I recommend using a blue shop towel and some isopropyl alcohol to clean out the bowl. (Some websites say use soap and water, but you really don't want any wax in your plumbing system.) From there you can use the decorative dish as a fantastic holder of keys, coins, or wallets near your front door, or décor anywhere else around the house/office.
